Hi all,

Ok, I know a lot about online marketing, but SEO is not one of my strengths. On the recommendation of my designer, we intalled the Platinum SEO plugin for WP. I've never gone in and done anything with it, though.

What do I need to do with this plugin to optimize my site for the search engines?

The only thing I've done so far is add the Home Title, Home Description and Home Keywords. That's it. Everything else is still at the default setting.

What else do I need to do?

Thanks,
Michelle

have you changed you permalinks from the default permalink to a custom permalink? If not, you need to go into your general/permalinks settings and change them to custom

    /%postname%/

Then save the settings. Now, whenever you make a blog post, your permalink, which should be a keyword phrase, will be displayed as oppose to something link :/?p=123

I hope this helps. Good luck

    Peter

If the SEO plugin is any good, it will allow you to setup unique titles for each page without your site name being in the title. This will reduce duplicate content issues and allow more focused keyword targeting for specific pages.
