Urgent - Need SEO Expert's Help...GWT Glitch?

Hi all,

Thanks for reading my thread and hopefully helping out.

What happened?

My organic traffic has been increasing steadily over the past 3 months, last week I was averaging 200 unique visits per day from Google organic search, from over 1,000 various search queries.

However, three days ago my organic traffic dropped from 200 per day to 20 per day, when I went in to GWT today I used to have 321 back links and now it says 'no data available' and it even says the same thing for 'internal links'?!

Does anyone know what the heck is going on with my site and GWT?

    It could just be a glitch, are your rankings still the same for your keywords?

    Nope, if I look at my search query report in GWT it shows from October 15th onwards ranking drops of 60 - 100% and impressions have dropped from 3,000 per day to 150 per day...definitely some massive drops.

    In terms of SEO, I don't do anything blackhat, I have links from IGN and other gaming related sites and forums, nothing automated and I write a LOT of content!

    Hmmmm, that is crazy! I would check your backlinks manually, maybe someone else is doing SEO for you....not so good SEO if you catch my drift.

    Thanks man, I have checked opensiteexplorer and there has been an update to my site, DA has increased and all my backlinks are still there, checking with ahrefs now.

    But I read this, it was from June but maybe there is another issue...

    Did you make and recent changes to your content, structure, coding? Anything on-page like that? You say you didn't do anything "blackhat" so what did you do?

    No major changes, not in the last 6 weeks at least, and organic traffic has been slowly increasing.

    What I do:

    1. Write original news articles & internal linking.
    2. Write original gaming guides for the industry.
    3. Post to my FB Page, G+ Page, Twitter Page & Youtube.
    4. Publish my originally created Youtube videos to my Youtube account and website.
    5. Post on one forum I am a part of.
    6. Post on specific Wiki for the game.
    7. Build relationships in the industry which has helped me gain links from other reputable sources in the industry.

    Simple stuff really, nothing massively significant but this process has helped me build my rankings over the past 3 months.

    Yeah it is a solid link building strategy, that slowly but organically builds links to my site.

      That's what I am trying to figure out, unless the bug/glitch has a real affect on traffic because Google sees it as a real change rather than a mistake?

      I work for an SEO/PPC Agency and see Google every week, definitely bringing this up on Monday!

        For sure, it's early in the morning though, I am sure someone else will check this thread and offer an opinion we haven't thought of yet.

    OK think I have figured it out, if I go to my site from an organic URL it gets redirected to some shitty site that isn't even live....wtf?!?!?!

    So, lesson for all if you find that your organic traffic suddenly shifts downwards:

    1. Search site:yoursite.com in Google, check your still indexed, if you are then click on to your website.

    If it goes straight to your website it's another problem, if however it gets re-directed to some spam website then you have been hacked.
