Hello everybody, I have searched all over the web and all over this forum and I can't seem to find a definitive answer to a question I have about using trademarked images on a website.

What is google's policy on using trademarked images from major companies on the landing page the PPC adwords ad is being sent to? I have a website where i'm providing a service for customers of major companies such as apple, and I have an apple logo on the site.

Will I get dissaproved for having this logo if I have a decent disclaimer stating that my company is a third party and is not in any way affiliated or endorsed by apple?

My adwords campaigns have been approved, but my account is under review, which google says is possibly for billing security verification or website review. I'm hoping that the trademarked logo on my site isn't going to get me denied.

Thank for any help!

Unless the owners of the trademark will notice Google, I don't think they will have a problem with this. First, you should give credit for every image you use on your website.

I don't think that brands will have a problem for you to display their logo, unless you are writing something bad about them, or if you use their logo to trick customers into buying some cheap replicas.

For example, if you have a website where you sell iphones or iphone apps, I don't think there is a problem if you place apple logo. But if you sell android phones and you place apple logo then there may be a problem. However, I don't think that google will disable your account even if you do that. It is not their problem.

You will probably never have problems with getting approved by AdWords unless it is a big company that has made it explicit to AdWords that their logo can't be used by anyone.

However down the line you might be contacted by the company who owns the trademark and be asked to remove the logo from your site. I have had this happen to me and I've always found that it is best to comply quickly to avoid them taking further action.

For this reason you should always have a contact form or email on your site because if the company can't find a way to contact you they might be forced to take harsher action instead.

Generally, if you're not breaking trademark law and are not attempting to represent yourself as a company or as a false affiliate of a company, you'll be good to go!

Google clearly wouldn't have insight into these relationships on-site, ad copy is primarily where they look for trademark usage.

      Hope this helps!
