I have a website which used to get 2500 unique visitors per day. It dropped 900 - 1300 visitors per day now. I analysed my Google analytics data and it turns out that my Social Media traffic has increased in the last 11 days. But in comparison to the first 11 days of this month, my search engine traffic is down by 500%. I think I got hit by penguin. I build a large number of links in the last few months. The Anchor text I used was my domain name mainly. Now my domain name doesnt show up even when I type it in mydomainname.com. LOL this sucks. My links are still indexed cuz they appear when I type in site:"mydomainname.com". I did not get any warnings in the webmasters tool. Any ideas to fix this? I thought all was well if I had my domain name as anchor text

Remove the double quotes from your site: search.

    Try this: site:mydomainname.com

Could you tell me what with and without double quotes mean? Exact and broad?

I have more search results appearing without double quotes. But here is the thing, my website is not ranking for any of the keywords. I am supposed to be the authority website on the niche sob sob.

Social won't directly rank a page.

You can't Tweet or Like your page to #1 in the SERPs.

If those Tweets/Likes get people to create real backlinks on authority pages you might rank a page, but that goes right back to link building.

But Google +1s might. I have the most organic +1s in my niche. No competition comes close. Assuming likes and tweets matter which I personally think don't, I don't fall short there either.

I maybe wrong, but building a large number of links with a different anchor text might balance it for me if it was really panda yes?
