Google showing wrong date in the serps.

They are showing April 1 2004 for a domain created in 2006.

Is this known?

The SERP date can be made to display any date you want, it has nothing to do with the age of the domain.

The SERP date is page level & doesn't necessarily mean the date the page was first posted.

Because that page does not mention any date on it so i wonder how and why google chose that date.

Certainly Google did not crawl that page in 2004.

Actually the page does mention the date that's displayed in Google SERPs.

They could have also submitted an xml sitemap to GWT that included the date, though I don't see any xml sitemap indexed (filetype:xml site:domain.com).
