linking building question

Hello,
I noticed this while conducting Keyword research on Google Planner and Market Samurai.
For an example lets the keyword is Men's Fashion.
Does it make a difference if the anchor text is Mens or Men's

  • I would agree that it does not matter but just to be safe, use the exact keyword you see in Google Keyword Planner. And yes, semantics play a huge role so better add variations to your main keyword as well.
  • Google is smart enough to understand the difference. Using both seems more natural. Natural is better.
  • It's the same thing. I think Google also understands synonyms as well, so if your key phrase contains word "car" in it for example, when you build backlinks and your site start going up in searches, Google will also start ranking you for your key phrase but with a word "auto".

    So you don't need to do double work ranking your site for very similar searches

    I think both are same thing. But you should build backlinks with both keywords. Also build backlinks with long-tail, domain, click here etc.
  • Google compensates for the users by taking any and all variations into account and even offering or showing correct spelling suggestions in the search results rather than what was asked for originally.

    • Google got tired of playing these word games and dealing in semantics. Most users are searching for a specific thing, they don't want the misspelled version. They just want the thing they are searching for. And, Google is happy to provide the correct spelling, so you are likely to end up in a relevant spot in Google search, even if you purposefully or accidentally misspell.
  • Google consider both keywords same. Because as samuel said, Google also suggest you the right word while you searching.
  • No according to google it doesn't make any difference as google will count misspellings, close variants. So better diversify your keywords further and get backlinks for those keywords.
