question about alexa

Hi,
I know that alexa is less important but I would like to know why is increasing on my website.

Note: my traffic increased.

The alexa rank should decrease,right?

Changes made in the last months :

- added 720 adsense ad above the fold and also one 320 on the sidebar first positioned near it.
- some advertisers purchased text links (4 on the sidebar active)

    alexa ranking is simply measuring the traffic visited to your site from users who have the alexa toolbar installed. i myself don't have it installed,so if i visited your website. my visit wouldn't have any effect on your alexa ranking.

    basically thats it.

    never take ALEXA as gospel because it can be tampered with. But the first thing i do when purchasing on-line is check ALEXA.

    ? Are Your pageviews down?

    These are all factors with alexa ranking.
