hi
I am optimising my site to appear high in google, linking is good apparently
how to I get links? the only people I can think of linking too are my competition, surely that wouldnt be good, where will the links show?
my website is selling ipl equipment and none of my competition have links.
please can someone give me some good advice and help me understand it better.

    The aim is to have as many pages linking to you as possible, the more on topic those pages the better.

    Don't have all links pointing to your homepage.. have a fair few deep linking.

    Press releases are a good way to get links, there's hundreds of ways but that one is my fav.

    Sumitting articles to directories (ezine & squidoo etc) should help a lot.

    Inviting well known bloggers in your niche to review your product might pay off too.

    Using RSS feeds and pinging will help.

    Social bookmarking sites are worth using too.
