Hello!

I have always done search engine optimization for strictly niche related websites with no problems.

My newest project Is a news website (about a niche). Do you go about ranking news websites differently? With strictly niche, you have your few target keywords, but with news websites, everything Is so broad.

So, do I go about ranking for these very populated and broad keywords, or target It like a regular niche website? Just seems to me that targeting a few choice keywords wont really work with a website about general news In a niche, considering so much Is released/announced a day.

Any suggestions and tips would be appreciated. Also consider that there are about 5-10 articles written a day, sometimes more depending on what news comes out.

Hope I'm explaining this okay.

-Thanks

Honestly with a news-type website you just want to focus on quality content. The keywords and such will fill themselves in. The only marketing you should really worry about is making sure your stories can be shared on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Try to help them go viral by promoting them on Facebook yourself as well.
