Hi
This is a really silly question, some may think what the hell is she doing in im, but my main experience has been in adwords, which I have had enough of.
I am optimizing my website and am trying to look for links. I sell IPL hair removal equipment and all my competitors (there arent many) have no links, and obviously I wouldnt be able to link to them. would it be good enough if I linked to sites about how it worked or to clinic doing ipl treatments.
also the silly question is. to create links do I just have a link page in my site and create hyperlinks where people can go to these sites.
or is there another way your supposed to do it.
I dont want to create these links if its not going to benefit me.

    The best technique with SEO is to have other sites linking to you, as opposed to you linking to other sites.

    Have a read of a few of the posts in this forum, as there is plenty of information here already available to you. If there's a more specific question you have, I'd be happy to answer it.

      thankyou for your quick reply, so providing links isnt going to benefit me? only if they link from my site, but why would anyone want to linkt me if Im selling machines? is there a better way to get round this?

    The field you're enquiring about is known as SEO (Search Engine Optimization), and it's quite large and not one I can explain all about here.

    • one of the SEO work is link building.u should build ur link from others site.there is lots of project on outsourcing work on SEO.if u give anyone to i promote thats will be better coz work is tough and needs experts

  • Helen, whilst on site content is important, if your competition doesn't have any backlinks then you mightn't need much on site content at all, and could outrank them easily with a few decent links.

    As 4morereferrals suggested, check out Angela's backlink package for only $5, and see if that alone boosts your ranking.

      Do you not have to have a backlink from a site very similar to your own?

  • Relevance is very important for more competitive niches, but if you're quite certain that your competition doesn't have any incoming backlinks at all (I could double check this for you if you want to send me your site via PM) then even just a few non relevant, but high PR backlinks will set your site ranking higher.
