If that is what they are concerned about, I would dump the client.

    Alexa ranking is completely useless.

Page Rank may, or may not, ever be publicly updated again. It is calculated every day, but Google might decide to never make that information public anymore. Therefore, you cannot make any guarantees around PR.

Again though, the client is focusing on the wrong things and will just be a headache. I wouldn't work with them.

at the very least it indicates if a site even gets traffic or not.

So does any basic analytics program.

How about dumping the SEO biz and not taking clients?

Hi, tell your client like a parent explaining a kid with all the patience that you can muster that such variables like Alexa and PR aren't important anymore. PR is something that even Google isn't concerned with today.

What matters is if you can rank the sites for the kws that your clients want and if they are so crazy for a pr 5, well I can get you an artificially pumped pr 9. But SEO ain't a numbers game

Matt Cutts recently made a video indicating that Google is going to phase out page rank.

So tell your client - never.

Not updating in 2013 doesn't mean never updating.

I haven't seen a video where Matt said it will never be updated. Video link?

        Note:
I'm not holding my breath on public PR being updated, just never seen a video where Matt said PR will never be updated.

        Phase out?
