Hey there,

Every blog post I make is ranking on page 2 or 3 which is good (even for big keywods and small) but the problem is what is the last step I need to bring my blog post up to page one. I've just been doing great on backlinks but is there any advice that anyone has please?

If you have just started it,be patient. Don't do anything stupid like mass link building or anything. The keywords would dance around a bit and then get to some good position. If they are on page one probably you're doing something right, go with it.

Depending on your niche you can ask fellow webmasters to allow you a guest post, keep track of stuff on google alerts.

Finally get some pr 3s or 4s and do some backlinking

Thanks for the advice, when I come to think of it they are all recent campaigns that I started this month. I'll go ahead see how it all plays out.

If you are ranking on page 2 and 3 of Google then you definitely need some push upwards using quality backlinks.

It's also vital to build your home page and make it on authority as this gives power to virtually every new blog post or pages you make as well as impact positively on the inner page rankings with little or no backlink.

Build relevant quality backlinks possibly from high PR sites .
Build backlinks to inner pages also not just to home page.
    Build internal links.
For high competition keywords build tiered backlinks. This will allow you to build lots of links to the tier 1 without impacting your money site.

You might also want to look at tweaking the structure of your site (if it does not mess with any permalinks) - it may be that if your site was just a little better themed (think silo structure) that might be enough to tip it over the edge, as perhaps Google is confused as to what your site is about, exactly.

Focus on your on-page and off-page SEO. On-page includes making high quality content that are valuable to the human visitors and a website that can be navigated easily and loads fast for great user experience. If your content is great, you can have lots of visitors and will make your website linkable. This will contribute to high traffic. High traffic will lead to high rankings in the SERPS.

Well, Google is eating junk links like a crazy b*** at this moment. Make your T1 and T2 "high quality" and then get as much as you can of all kind of T3 and T4...

Yeah.. some people will tell you it doesn't work or that you will get filtered but those people don't know what they are talking about. Just make sure T1 and T2 is GOOD! Then go with the rest of Ts and enjoy.

P.S Make sure you keep 100% control over T1s! and some T2s
P.P.S Tools you need: FCS, GSA SER, ScrapeBOX, TBS, Kontent Machine, optionally Xrumer (depends what your niche is...)
P.P.P.S If that's your client's site then OUTSOURCE! If not.. . don't think twice. Just go for it and you will thank me later on

If you are on 2nd or 3rd page of google, and you are still building backlinks, then keep the process slow and steady, and keep updating content on the site to get noticed.

As you know Google uses PageRank to determine a website's importance based on how many other pages link to it. Find websites related to yours to offer reciprocal links. Look for linkback opportunities in blogs, articles and local directories to get position in SERP.
