I'm curious if one can absolutely dominate a search term by ranking 10 or even 20 different things that they own for one keyword or even rank 10 or 20 of their website pages for one keyword.

Can you imagine just 10 different pages of your website that show up for all 10 spots for 1 keyword.

Indeed (Job aggregator) have done this for many key words in Europe and the US. Looks spammy though as Google UK shows multiple Indeed results for US specific locations when searching for jobs by skill/title and not entering a location.

Yes, It happens..if you have low competition keywords that no one is targeting and search engines does not other options to show only your sites' pages..but it also means that you have over optimized same keywords for different pages in title,description,urls..

It doesn't have to mean over optimization.

Having a category full of relevant pages focused on one subject is completely normal.

Ranking multiple pages per domain for the same keyword is legit, If Google wasn't ok with it they wouldn't allow it to happen, but they do allow it to happen.

The good news is most people are oblivious to ranking multiple pages for the same keyword, I guess they don't even know it's possible.

Who cares really? Its a freaking waste of time not domination. Top 4 ok I can see that but 6-10? People need to go look at the clicks they get. Its the rare searcher thats going to skip the top four and click 6-10

Like...um....google is going to penalize someone for being the
            top site that matters?!?!?!

Makes no sense. Amazon would have been obliterated by now,
            along with many others.

Makes no difference about how many times the site appears.
Anyone who gets results like that, is searching for something
that WILL get results like that. And if they skip the first results,
then they are clueless as to what the heck they are searching for
in the first place. Most website owners don't care about searchers
            like that.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

hahhaha i forget internet affiliate marketers still work as sales men and not business men. Its unfortunate that people confuse Affiliate Marketing with owning a business. Any idiot can make money in a market but less then few can actually impact them.

Maybe anti-establishment searchers - "We refuse to click the top site links. We will click only the 8-10 ranked and stick it to the man!"

Was looking at a niche keyword and a company with the keywords as their name (ie: Healthy Dog -- not the actual keywords) had their homepage #1, and each product category (leashes, dog beds, etc) pages made up the next 5-6 listings.

            Google seems happy with them.

That said, I wonder if it's worth trying to jump into trying to rank there. Sadly, I'm not in competition with those specific company products, just that they use a generic company name that leads to top positions.

TO be honest a user would most likely never see this as being spam (obviously people having a bad day would), they would see this as "if this webpage is repeated, then obviously the information it is offering must be good". However i am very positive that strategy would be key, just like a heat map. It would be best to try and rank for obviously 1, then maybe 4 and then 7 and 8. It is just like advertising, when a consumer is given options and they see a repetitive brand more than the comp. they will instinctively just go their and not only that, that "TRUST" your brand has brought will most likely get them to book mark you and think of you every time they seek similar information on that specific topic. If they surfed your website and your titles caught their attention what ever topic it is on will definitely make them remember you.

You're curiosity is right. I've previously experienced ranking on Google's entire first page and 2nd page under 1 keyword with different pages/links. Sad to disappoint your curiosity but Google decided to only show 2 links/pages coming from a domain per Google's result pages.

I just don't know if they already disregard their 2 links per page result rule with same domain per result page. I'm pretty much pre-occupied with my new clients to recover from being hit by Penguin 2.1.

If ever they remove that rule I will dominate Google's Entire First page again.
