Is using Google Analytics safe to use?

Hi,

I practice what many people now call grey hat link building (my own privte blog network, web2.0s, manual press releases etc. all high quality relevant content) and I was wondering is it safe to use Google Analytics? Will Google use the data on here to negatively affect my ranking?

    Isn't the whole point of creating backlinks for SEO to get Google to look at the backlinks?

    I run GA & don't have any problems ranking pages. I also have decent links.

  • If you are not doing any unnatural / backhat methods to rank your website, there should be no reason to not have Google analytics.
  • I've been using Google Analytics and GWT. I don't see any issue using them.
  • There is no reason to not use them.

    You said you are using a private network. I would not include those sites under the same account, tying them together nicely in a bow for Google to spot.

  • G uses each and every bit of your Data. Open any Product site in your Browser (not through G), then open any site with G ads, you will see the Product Ads you just visited earlier.

    How did they get it ? You didn't visit G at all...

    Same happens with all their Services.

    • This is actually quite simple and common. It's called remarketing. When you visit a site, it (not Google!) places a cookie on your machine. Then when you browse the web the same site is showing you its ads through the Google Adwords Display Network.
