Keyword Research

Hi everyone hope you're all well

I've decided to embark on creating another website which I will use to promote CPA offers as well as some adsense. My previous adsense sites have been OK, but not that great because in my opinion I didn't do my KW research correctly. E.g. one site is a teen advice site ( how on earth I thought that would make good adsense revenue is beyond me!

I'm curious as to know what tools you guys use to do your keyword research. I had always used google keyword tool before but I notice that has changed now.

This also means that I can no longer seem to sync my copy of market samurai to google, as it is not working for me.

Any good ideas of software/tools/techniques I can use to properly carry out my keyword research?

Many thanks,

Alex Smith

  • Well, there are plenty of services on here that offer SEO keyword researching. If we told you the secrets, how would they make any money!? There are multiple tools and techniques you could use, and I've never offered a keyword research service myself, only some keyword implementations for sites and content. Try the "Google Keyword Planner", it's a jump-start in the right direction!

    Cheers.

    • Use Google Trends, Google keyword planner (AdWords), spy on the keywords of your (potential) competitors and ........................ that's all.
  • Long Tail Pro is the current darling of the keyword research world. It's not cheap, though.

    • I use Keyword Researcher at clevergizmos.
  • You can get all the keyword info you need using a combination of Keyword Planner (which is actually much better than the old tool for local keyword research) and a site like SEO Majestic and tools like SEO Spyglass for the competition details (all free tools)

  • New Google Keyword Tool is almost the same as it was earlier. Few things changed but you can still work perfectly with it. I am also using Semrush for my keyword research.

Forget about Market Samurai, you don't need it.

    • For keyword research there are lots of paid tools available in Industry through which you can get the detailed information regarding your keyword. But I prefer Keyword planner tool, it is free tool available online. And now it provides lots of new features & services which makes it more user friendly.

  • Go with Google Trends, Google keyword planner.
  • Best keyword tool on the market right now in my opinion is SEcockpit.

    It's a paid subscription though ($97 a month I think)

If you can fit it into your budget I think it's exactly what you're looking for.

    • I'm coming around to the new keyword planner... don't hate it as much as I did originally.
  • I found soovle to be a good keyword research tool for free, It is good keyword research tool for Google, Bing, Yahoo and Amazon.
  • Here are my favorite tools:

    SEMRush
    Ubersuggest
    Soovle
    Google keyword planner
    Google Trends (for seasonality)
  • I am really confused why can't Market Samurai help you. It's the best software for keyword research... Are you not happy with the results? Or you just don't know how to use it?

  • You can also use ubersuggest, seo book, keyword discovery for more keyword options. For Google Keyword Planner, you can check the specific number of searches per month that a keyword gets by downloading the list of your prospect keywords.

  • I know it has a bad rap, but pick up Scrapebox if you're willing to spend a little. The keyword harvester is amazing. Ubersuggest on steroids. Feed it a seed list of at least a few hundred keywords, append A-Z to each, and let it go. Give it an hour or so and you can hit 50,000+ long tails in your niche. Then just plug these into the Google Keyword Planner to get search counts.
  • I've used Market Samurai and Longtail Pro; I favor LTP of speed and the nicer interface. You must be careful though with LTP as if you are using it too heavily as you won't have the ability to retrieve any longer results. I've also discovered that having an semrush account is indispensable when analyzing your competition; I use it to see what they're ranking for.
  • great posting , thanks for sharing
  • Google Adwords tool is expand into Keyword Planner and it is the tool which give you local and global competition of keywords. It is the free tool. Jaaxy is also another tool for keyword research but it is a paid tool.
