Domain Blacklisted by Google?

Is there a way to determine what Google thinks of a domain?

I'm thinking about repurposing a domain and before I do, I want to know whether it's been penalized by Google somehow.

  • Well if the domain has any pages you can do a "site:www.enterdomainhere.com" search into Google and replace enterdomainhere with your domain.

You could also try hxxp://mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx or hxxp://www.blacklistalert.org to look up the domain. It will determine if the domain has been blacklisted.

    • I don't know whether this bodes well but Google only shows up archives, categories, tags, and similar pages. But none of the articles. There is a sitemap.xml.gz.

      Hmm.

    • Great tools!!! Didn't know they existed.

All you would have to do is try & rank one of the pages for an easy keyword, If you can rank the page I doubt anything is wrong. Rank an easy keyword first that way competition won't be in the way while testing.
  • Yukon is right, but the fastest way is to see if anything is wrong is to just copy/paste the domain into Google.com.
  • Hi Friends,

I have a doubt, please share your ideas.. Few months back my website get’s spammed and it thrown in sandbox (i search for my brand name, it doesn't rank in the first 10 page). Few weeks back i completely restructure my website with unique content. And right now also, i am targeted in the same position.. How can i submit the reconsideration request for my website, or else Alternatively what can i do for that???? Correspondingly i check in manual action also, i can't receive any issues in my website. But for "Brand Name" Keyword i am targeting on 117th position. Here i am waiting for your responses… Thanks in advance..

    Regards,
    Dinesh
