Does Google Ranks Category Pages?

I haven´t used yet categories at wordpress, now I am using an arcade theme, and I am looking to rank for some keywords, the thing is that the games do not show on pages like posts like hxxp://www.arcade.com/action-games but they show as hxxp://www.arcade.com/category/action-games , won´t this affect all the website in terms of ranking my website? Will it rank fine for the keyword action games?


for example how do I set my website to look like this?

hxxp://www.minijuegos.com/juegos-de-aventuras and show the posts?

      It can and will, but you need to be careful about duplicate content when using category pages. For example, if your post, homepage and category page all show the same content Google might not like that. Try showing excerpts when possible and learn about "Canonical". The Genesis theme is good at protecting you from this issue.

    Yes they do... if you are using the "all in one" seo plugin also add the "Category SEO" plugin and the hit edit to add your meta's for category pages, this will help.

    Yes, some themes let you write on the category page too. I have a category page ranking right now and have 300 or so words on it. It goes above the posts on the category page.
