Please type 'russia fish wings' into Google and tell me if you see a very offensive listing like I do?

If you do, explain how this happened

  • Whats there to explain? An offensive word shows in the snippets when a little searched term is entered. Google can't police all words on the internet. I take no offense at Google. its not like I don't know people still use the word. I bet if you do some Paula Deen related searches it will come up to.
  • I only see Amazon, Walmart, and Overstock listings selling "Russia Fish Wings"
  • What should we see?

    I see:
    1. toysrus.com
    2. wafflehouse.com
    3. coleman.com
  • So only Mike Anthony and I see it? That's weird.

Yukon, that's interesting. Google must be pretty confident you're planning on buying Russia Fish Wings. On the other hand, they seemed to think I was only looking for 'information' on the subject.

I think 'Waffle House' is a great result. They're known for their Russia Fish Wings! Tasty.

    • If you have personalized Google search results turned on, that could influence what Google shows you. Just turn off the results and you will be more closely seeing what the rest of the world sees.

  • I see:

    1.Wikipedia.
    2. Urban dictionaty
    3 Tryourfish.com

What do you see? Now I am curious
  • I see Wikipedia, Russian news stories and a Youtube video about a fish hummmmm
  • Yeah I see it #2 encyclopedia dramatica (i presume that's what you're talking about?) but on google.com not .co.uk where I am.
  • Using chrome in incognito mode I see the Urban Dictionary listing you are referring to at #5.

There's nothing that mysterious about the ranking of that page. Even though it doesn't have the word 'wings' in it, Google is most likely returning based on related keywords ('chips' in this instance)

  • Nothing out of the ordinary for me...LOL

I guess it has more to do with your cookies than messed up search results...

We see what you've been surfing lately...
  • Nothing strange, just a normal search result.
  • Now I'm seeing completely different results today.

These make a lot more sense.

I think Yukon's results are fascinating. Google figures he's looking for a deal on these wings at a mainstream local business establishment.

I got more informational answers again.
