Want to register 100 UK domains in different names

Hey Guys,

In the UK you cannot use full whoisguard for uk domains like ".co.uk" domains. Nominet say that the owners name must be visible but will hide the address.

I am in the process of creating a blogfarm and I see this as a problem. I'm sure if google see hundreds of domains, all registered by the same person, pointing at the same site then they may get suspicious.

Other aspects like date of registration, IP address, content etc.. I have thought about and think I can get round that pretty well. It's just this registered name issue thats concerning me.

So far the only 2 ideas I have are:

1. Mispell my name 100 times - but it will still be similar so im sure google will still detect this
2. Make up many different names - but does this mean I may lose the domain if someone comes along and tries to steal it from me?

I think option 2 is the only real way to do it but I am unsure of the risks. Anyone know for sure what risks I run by doing this?

I know a post like this generally forms a lot of response from people who don't really know but like to pipe in. I would really appreciate it if I could get some responses from people who know first hand what the risk of losing the domains would be.

Thanks,

G

PS for what I'm doing this 100% has to be .co.uk domains. I can't explain it, just please take my word for this.

Unfortunately Guerilla as you're already aware, it's a trade off you're going to have to make. Whether you risk using false names and potentially lose the domain for fake whois, or Google sees the domains as being registered to the same person.

Whilst I don't condone fake whois details in any way, shape or form, the first point of contact they'll usually use is an e-mail address or phone number if there's any issue, and you should still be able to receive mail under the alternate name. So I can't see how, in practicality, any real issues would arise if you did this.

Is using subdomains another option for you?

How about finding 10 registrars, registering 10 domains with each and putting one fake name for each "bunch?" If you get discovered, only one gets kicked.

How do you mean kicked? This is what I am unsure of. Would I only be at risk if someone actually has the name I registered? Or will nominet de-register the domain if they find out?
