Adwords ads now flagged with ad?

I've noticed for several months that on my iPad Adwords ads are flagged with a nice little ad banner. Tonight I noticed the same thing on my desktop.

Has anyone else noticed this? I am in Australia using Firefox while logged in to Gmail.

I see the same thing. It only took Google 15 years to get around to making ads obvious in the SERPs.

I suspect it's just an experiment. When they see their Adwords revenue drop by over 20%, I think they will roll it back it very quickly. Maybe it's the result of some court case somewhere?

It's amazing the % of people who don't know the results up the top or right sidebar are paid ads. Depending on your monitor, sometimes you don't even see that very faint yellow background.

I have seen them in some research and some countries IPs, not in all, I am sure they are testing the response, but they have not rolled out to all the searches.

Im in AU and I can't see them... using Chrome.

Google always experiments.. i've seen different colours links for URLS come for a few hours and then go.. good way to test a billion impressions!

Sometimes it is appearing and sometimes not, so may be it is in testing phase.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

They are appearing for me too, right when I was about to start a new adwords campaign. I guess I'll have to rethink that.
      I'm in the USA.

The ads didn't show for me in Chrome, just Firefox. And now they have turned off again

I also noticed that 2 days ago and thought it is a bad idea. Lots of people don't know that the top and left results might be ads. Hope that they will not go for it in the future

I Think it is quite smart move by Google in order to differentiate between paid and organic search! It would definitely help end user to find more relevant search results!

Yes, I also noticed it. It’s nice update by Google. It easily help to noticed that which are ads or paid results and which are organic results in SERP's.
