Google Update Oct/Nov 2013?

Hi all,

We're dealing with 2.1 as best we can, and at the end of October we started to notice our traffic rising again from organic searches.

Of course, we're doing allsorts to get over 2.1, but we wondered if there's been an update of some kind as well?

Any ideas?

  • John - please stop posting. You've been wrong on every post I've seen. There are updates Google announces and ones they don't. You can view SERP movement by day on MozCast dot com. There was MAJOR movement on Thursday 11/14.
  • I think Panda ran at the end of October or start of November.

    I saw SERP improvements for a Panda penalized site, which we had done a lot of recovery work on during September and October, during the first few days of November.
  • Towards the end of October I saw an improvement in my rankings. However now my rankings have dropped. It is best not to focus too much on Google rankings for traffic. Try other traffic sources and free yourself from the never ending changes that Google keeps making.
  • Google make >500 changes/updates/tweaks to the ranking algorithm each yr, so yes there would have been more than a few in Oct/Nov
  • Yes, may be there some update..In oct i was on 1st page and my ranking were going down and down..but now after giving some back links, i am seeing my site on top..
  • Yes, Google is changing monthly..They have cleared that in every month they roll out some update..

    • That only lists the major changes. It does not list the >500 minor tweaks/changes in the dials that are done each yr.
