I'm confused with facebook PPC, I've been looking around for some information on it, but have no idea, what I should be doing.

I haven't set-up my ad's yet because of the lack of information, basically more so on how much I will end up paying per click.

Who has expereience with advertising on facebook?

Thanks.

  • I have advertised on Facebook before, but stopped to focus on other search engines. I used to set CPC at 0.30-0.50. CTRs are pretty good but you will have to tweak your ad settings to get quality leads.

    - Facebook demands perfect grammar on all ads.
    - No unnecessary caps on any word unless its a name.
    - I think some big keywords are banned like "Google", "Yahoo", etc.
    - You can target demographically.
    - You can only geo-target 1 country per campaign(or ad, I forgot).
    - Treat it like content network, its interruption advertising. So you will need to write "louder" ads.

I've seen animated banners recently, but do not know how to go about doing it yet.
Thats all I can think of right now, hope it helps.

    • Yep, socksiong covered pretty much everything. I find that FaceBook is really to much of a hassle to use and I try to focus on PPC that search engines offer because it's just a lot easier.

  • You really have to watch out on Facebook . . . you can loose your arm and left leg in a heart beat.

My advice is to start slow and find a niche that targets moms with kids.

For instance, I did decently well with a baby photo contest.

    Cheers!
