Competition with same domains

Hi there folks,

I have a good keywords (I think), the top ten is "easy" to outrank.

But the exact domain already exists (.net, .com and .org). I've been looking into these domains and:

- [exactkeywords].com, is 2 years old, has a 19 of Page authority and has 5 external backlinks
- [exactkeywords].org, is 4 months, has a 25 of Page authority and has 7 external backlinks
- [exactkeywords].net, is 4 months, and has nothing of PA neither links

Three sites are affiliate sites with very poor content, I think I can do better. None of the three sites compete for my keywords.

Do you thing is worth competing with these sites? I'm thinking on get the domain with a suffix.

Or it will be a tough task?

  • If its a buyer keyword then you should go for it. Make sure the keyword has minimum of 1000 exact match searches per month. CPC for the keyword should be at least $1, even if you plan to monetize with adsense.

  • My keywords have 3600 exact searches and 1.2 CPC, I think is OK.

    The competition (top 10 in google) is outrankable (i think), but the exact domain (com net and org) exist and three pages are the same business that I want.

    However these pages are weak pages and without competition for same keywords.

    • If they are not competing for the keywords you are targeting. Then they are not your competition. Your competition is the top 3 results in Google for the keywords you "are" targeting.
  • Without seeing more on those domains and actually doing some in depth research I can not say, but they look easy enough. Is this going to be an adsense site?
