New to adsense any tips

I am new to adsense. Just created account, added code to website.....

Any tips on configuring adsense to get most clicks? Any advice?

    Listen to Kay and don't fall at the first hurdle. Make sure you know what you're getting into and don't let any amount of "legalese" turn you oblivious to the facts. Read through and ask here if you're struggling with anything.

    If you need any incentive, just go to the SEO,Adsense part of the forum and read the threads of those who lost their adsense accounts. In (I'm not giving a figure - but it's high!) amount of the cases the fault fell squarely in the lap of the adsense operator who didn't follow the Adsense TOS.

      Will dating site be considered "mature content"?

      URL says mail order brides but in reality its a regular dating site.

        Google publishes all this. There is no legalese in their guides,
        answers, examples, etc. in their content policies, as
        well as several other places. I have no idea why you are not
        reading that stuff.

        Acceptable: Dating sites (non-sexual)

        Now maybe you did read that mail order brides are not acceptable.
        If that's true, then you are reading something.

        Why on earth would you have a url with mail order brides in it, if
        it is not a page on mail order brides?

        Change the url. If you actually mean domain, and not url, then again,
        go get a different domain.

        If my domain had mail order brides in it, and google stated not to
        put adsense on mail order bride sites, then what is google going
        to think? Sure, amazon.com and kayak.com have nothing to
        do with their domains, but no reason for mailorderbride.com or
        some variation to NOT be confused by google as being about,
        well, mail order brides.

          I could not find anything specific on Google Adsense about mail order brides which is why i am asking.

          you are right "mail order brides" is in the domain nor url and i put it there for easier seo

        Place ads between your posts. A rectangular dimension is indeed helpful.
        One at the end of your post.
        The header will have another placement. Right besides your logo.
        If your theme is a custom made theme then there are other positions too.
        Remember. Not to post too many ads, as it will look dull and you may have chance to loose traffic from your site.
        Just 1 Advice. Try place link ads between your posts. It is sure that you will get some potential clicks on those.

    Dating are for mature, so it should be considered as mature content but I've seen many of them running on sites without any problem.
    May be what they consider as mature is the intention to seduce people towards adult's stuff! Who knows.
