SEO experts please review my first ever site.

Hi there,

I was wondering if I could ask a big favour. Basically I have just gone live with my first ever website.

I am new to SEO and have just started to learn it.

I was wondering if any good hearted experts would give it a cursory glance just to check that I have done the basics ok.

    I don't know what advice others have given you (I would imagine it's high quality) but here's what I would suggest to get started with.. this is by no means the be all and end all, it's just a couple of quick pointers to get you started..

    robots file.. you don't NEED one, but it won't hurt as it's the very first thing all search engines look for.

    alt tags.. you do need these. Don't keyword stuff, just give a descriptive title.. so for your image 'hp_healthydiet.gif' you might want to call your alt something like: example of a healthy diet.

    h1 with your main keywords near your opening body tag. OK this is open to some debate but like it or not search engines still regard content within this tag as the most important on the page.

    I don't have time to do a full relevancy, proximity, frequency, stemming, density etc etc check on the site or examine any other pages apart from your index, but from my 30 second look they are the issues I would start with first. There's plenty more you can do and I'm sure others will jump in with their own opinions.
