Has anyone else used the pinger on the 247 site?

I don't get it? You add a list of links that you want to ping which is straight forward but then the next box lets you add a list of keywords. Confused to the point of the keywords. Surely it is just pinging search engines with my links?

    I believe you add keywords that are relevant to the pages that you are pinging.

    For example:
    If you are pinging an article about dog training, then you should add the keyword "dog training" in that box

    Thanks for replying but what is the purpose of these keywords? Is they count towards serp?
