Links are dead (according to Yandex)!

Yesterday Alexander Sadovskiy (Head of Web Search at Yandex), hxxp://www.russiansearchtips.com/2013/12/yandex-seo-deal-links that from January 2014 they will roll out a new ranking algorithm that will not take ANY links into considerations.

What do you guys think of this? How will that be possible? Will it change the whole sphere of SEO?

    The idea works well for paid directories, that's why we have search engines.

        Yes, Google will stop using backlinks when they start farming cows instead of ranking sites.
