Anyone having problems with private network sites hosted at IdeaStack

Today I discovered that about 15 of my domains that I host at IdeaStack (a sort of reseller hoster that is with servers at multiple locations) have the homepage deindexed while some inner pages are still indexed.

Is this a deindexation from Google or could it be configuration errors or whatever from IdeaStack. It's odd that only the domains that I host with IdeaStack lost their homepage in the index. All my domains hosted else where are still in good shape, I just checked a couple hundred sites manually.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

They look like an "SEO" host, guessing you bought multiple IPS, etc?

They probably got hit by Google. I wouldn't put 15 of my sites on any 1 hosting provider, nevermind one that is "SEO" related. Spread it out with legit hosts.

Easier said then done when having to host 500+ sites.

It's a reseller host that obvious gets abused by SEO'ers.

Sorry people the niche relevant sites now have 19 sites in each niche instead of 20.

Perhaps I can use those domains to link to a site that is penalized in Google to increase rankings in Yahoo/Bing or something.

One of my competition is ranking well in Yahoo/Bing with a site that Google smacked a few months ago. Goes to show Yahoo/Bing don't really try to fight spammy links in their SERPs.

Yahoo/Bing don't usually have as much traffic as Google SERPs (not for the niche I target) but they still have some traffic.

Yeah why not make a little case study out of it.

I just added my keywords to track in Bing and will place some links in the sidebars of each of those sites just to see what happens, using 15 different money keywords as anchor text's.

Most sites don't have that many posts yet as the network is quite fresh so it shouldn't lead to problems, no idea if Bing/Yahoo even cares about such things.

Turns out I rank in Bing.com at:

              #34 for seo service (540 exact searches/month)
              #100 for seo services (2220 exact searches/month)

              According to SerpFox.

Better then I expected, my blog post titles itself hardly rank in Bing though.

I have a site which is 19 years old (yes I started in this game before Google and even Netscape existed), and it has really bad PANDA issues due to it's ancient CMS - it runs primarily on customized versions of Matt's Script Archive software for anyone else who's been around long enough to remember.

However, it nails the SERPs on Bing.

It's pretty clear that Microsoft have decided not to make the investments necessary to catch up to Google - either that or they've tried and have yet to succeed.

Also, those sites are probably dead, but if you want to try to recover them, export the backups and put them on new hosts. I'd be curious if this works.

They probably got hit, like all "SEO hosts" will eventually. All you have to do is check the IPs your domains are hosted on. Grab all the other domains hosted on the same IPs. Run them through a index checker. I bet you find 50-60% or more are deindexed.

I know where my domains are hosted and all 15 are deindexed, no exceptions.

Guess I'll start to buy a few dozen more shared hostings but it's such a hell to keep track of all with the renewal subscriptions and everything.

You misunderstand what I am saying. I have no doubt your domains are deindexed and that you can tell that.

What I would do is pull all the other sites that are also hosted on those 15 IP addresses and see how many of them are also deindexed. It will give you a better idea if your sites were targeted because of where they are hosted or if there is something else you need to look for that caused your sites to come under Google's radar.

Right, I just checked one IP address out of the pool and 221 sites are hosted on that IP:

          - 191 not indexed in Google
          - 30 indexed

They have about 50 IP's in total if I remember correctly so that's >10.000 sites deindexed.

One of the network sites that isn't deindexed is the most basic blog site but they use the read more tag so no hyper links visible on the homepage, however they do have a blog roll on the homepage that links out to authority sites like Wikipedia, W3C, Mozilla as well as some clients I suspect.

Another one that isn't deindexed consists of one page in total with 3 Adsense blocks and in the footer links to 50 different sites, PR funneling I guess and for the rest it has a contact and a privacy page and that's it. Not really the type of site that you would take as an example lol.

Those two examples are both PR4 domains.

All the other ones that are still indexed are PR0

I can honestly say that each of mine sites looked a lot better as we divided it into niches, with custom headers / logo's / premium theme you name it, but yeah it's still linking out in each post to clients of course.

Thanks. Right there is more proof to stay the hell away from anyone advertising 'SEO hosting'.

I suggest you move a handful of the domains over to Cloudflare and see if they come back. The basic Cloudflare service is free, takes minutes to set up and will effectively change the IP address presented to Google.

@nik0 the result is the same for 15 sites? Do 15 sites are on the same physical node?

      EDIT: Thanks Kevin.

No they are hosted over 6 different data centers and thus different (I suppose physical) IP's.
