I'm looking at those auctions and get out bid all the time, pretty weak PR4 domains go for $200+, is this a standard practice these days....?

I noticed the auctions have been busier lately. PR update has people confident again no doubt.

Some people may have placed bids yesterday before the update too.

Surprise to hear you say this Niko.

    Strong PR4 cost $300 to $400...

Weak PR4 at $200 is still fair.

I guess I've been spoiled with my broker then as I mostly paid around $200,- for good PR4's, and under a $100,- for dropped PR4 ones.

Someone just bought 80 PR5s for $1,000 in another thread.

    Ask him what's the secret.

The secret is a parallel universe where up is down, right is wrong & common sense isn't all that common.

I hate that market, people just pay way more than I think they are worth. Maybe I am just too damn cheap though.

What bothers me the most with the more expensive ones is that it's insane hard to keep the back links, especially with the higher PR ones like PR5-PR6.

A PR6 requires PR6-PR7 links to get where it is and those high PR pages often get maintained by webmasters, not always right away but there is a high risk of deletion of such links when you re-purpose the site, which kind of vaporizes all the money you paid for it when you lose those links and get downgraded to a pR3 or something.

      I bought one PR6 over a year ago for $1000,-, now it's a PR4, that's just $600 down the drain in a year time.

Im thinking that the recent update may have increased activity, as link sellers will be buying these domains so they can sell links to people.

I stopped bidding at GoDaddy a long time ago. Good deals there are few and far between. Occasionally, you can find some good values on buy it now.

There are better places to buy domains from - check the smaller auction sites, IM forums, Flippa even.
