Do changing host provider, hosting one site inside another, and domain name privacy impact ranking?

Instead of creating three different threads I am posting these somewhat related questions here.

1) I have had one site hosted on Startlogic for the past 8 years. Have not done much with that site for the past 5 years, but want to...after moving to a new host provider. Does it hurt ranking to move to a new host provider after so many years on a different one?

2) I have a site and blog hosted on godaddy. I created the blog first and then found out that godaddy allowed you to host multiple sites via one account! Startlogic does not...at least for the type of account I have. Anyway, so I created my new site and put all its pages in a folder within my blog's existing main folder in godaddy. Site works great (although for some strange reason in mobile version the site did not show up and instead an error page of the upper level blog showed up, and goaddy tech guy could not solve the problem so disabled mobile view of the site). Anyway, I am wondering if there is any danger in hosting a site within another site (in this case blog)'s main folder as far as SEO or other relevant issues go.

3) When I got my two recent domain names, I also paid for domain name privacy. Does this hurt ranking? Also, when I checked the monetary value of one of my older sites on a site that estimates website values, it did not give me any results based on the fact that it could not identify site hosting and owner details. Other similar value gauging sites did ok. It almost seems like in today's social media Google+ and Facebook age, it is best to have as little privacy as possible.

So long as you make the transition seamless (ie: no downtime), then it shouldn't make any difference.

From an SEO perspective, it doesn't matter what folders it exists in, so long as it displays the correct content.

No real evidence to suggest it harms rankings.

All of those domain valuation sites are completely worthless. Don't bother using them.

The amount of privacy is ultimately up to you and your preferences.

I have 5 blogs which is hosting on shared hosting plan in one account. Not found any problem with it.

The only strange thing found is the ranking fluctuations. Some day it appears on first page, some day sleeps to second page. I dont know whether it is the actual reason or not.

    Two rules:
    - avoid "SEO hosting", as the networks are downgraded by Google/Bing/etc
    - avoid slow overloaded hosts like Dreamhost, Godaddy or EIG (Hostgator, Bluehost, Justhost, 50+ others)

You'll be fine if you follow those.

      Thanks, especially UMS!

Why do you guys dislike Godaddy? So far, I like it more than Startlogic, the only other host provider that I have ever had. I assume that they have similar speeds? Are mili-seconds really that important when choosing a host provider? Would it then make most sense to host your own site on a super fast computer and internet connection?

And what does "avoid SEO hosting" mean kpmedia?

People search for information, not for your site speedy or website hosting

I am in complete agreement with UMS. None of the issues you mentioned should affect your site at all. Moving site is a part of life, it doesn't really makes any difference, other than the IP change affecting local searches. As long as you are hosting in the same country, no real difference is expected. Domain privacy etc are not an issue and never take any online tools that value your site seriously.

The same people that say they do SEO hosting, also see unicorns
and occasionally do some squatchin'. They also are the ones
most likely to live out in the middle of nowhere, and get abducted
      by aliens.
