I agree with this. Very contadictory. New site can't rank easily and overnight without any content on it and so on and so forth.

Since this is a new site, why not go back to basic:
1.CONTENT IS KING.
2. Do social media marketing
3. Be patient.

First you need at least 20 pieces of high quality content on your website. It will still take a month or so to start ranking. It took me about a month to start ranking in the serps and I know what I am doing

depending on your keywords and competition, it can be done in a short time, or like a never.
if you have idea about how to earn bucks in a few days, you can even try with some spammy SEO services, which will launch you on the top for a short time, and drop you on the bottom for like forever.

Build the site first and then look for SEOs to optimize it for you. If you are targeting a low competition keyword, hiring an SEO would be unnecessary since you can rank for such a keyword with basic SEO knowledge.

Follow on-page best practices and avoid building spammy backlinks. If you are going to build spammy backlinks, build them as tier 3 links.

80% of the SEO Providers you'll find are not going to get you there. Fiverr has a few good providers, but it's really not a process you can satisfy with a gig or two.

Well this all depends on the level of competition in your niche and for your target keywords... Also as its a new website then beware that the website is in the sandbox!!! That is Google deliberately handicaps brand new websites from ranking quickly in order to prevent fly-by-night spammers... You need to build trust and authority... The alternative is "crash and burn"... that is fire backlinks etc and it may rank very briefly and then disappear from the SERPs... None the less if you can get a few very high quality links from high authority sites and build consistent quality content with social signals then you could get this moving... Things have changed a lot in SEO these days ... long gone are the days when you could backlink to your site and rank quickly... You need to put some elbow grease into it if you know what I mean ;-)

Google are now using 'true' ranking - rather than looking the other way as the service providers and retailers in the past built their entire business using over-optimised perceived efficiency for ranking. So now unless you have 'true' 1,000% efficiency or your are in very selective niche - not going to happen as all the retailers are being 'downsized'.

Most of the knowledge floating around here - it's based on perceived efficiency not the reality of the ~50-100% that most sites are actually built around - it implodes pretty fast as Google at 2,000% efficiency push everyone to their 'true' ranking! We decided the fireworks are better viewed from a distance!

You want to rank your site Brand Name on Top Of Google :-

Do Following Steps
Verify your site in Webmaster , Add Site Map
Put the Google Analytic Code in your Website.
Use On Page Steps like :- Add the title with your brand name , Meta description , Alt tags to images, Bing Verfication code in your website., Blog etc
There are some more. Like Off Page Service Press release , guest post , video promotion.

Increase your backlinks to get high ranking on popular search engines and remind that huge backlinks from low page rank site are less valuable than few backlinks from high page rank and domain authority site. It will be best if it comes from page rank from (7--10) site.
