How Hard Would Ranking for 20k Pages Be?

I have found a niche that has 200 searches a month, and while can't buy the exact domain for the word, I can buy one with ____ for sale.com . It has 17k pages on the topic, amazon isn't ranking for it, and the only two major sites ranking for it are my brand's product website, and a . de site . This product would be used by professionals. How easily could I rank for this, and with 200 searches, should I be able to make at least one sale (assuming 200 X 0.50% conversion rate= 1 )? If they looked for something that niche, do you think they know what they are looking for? Thanks.

I've seen a similar question asked on this forum

I don't see any correlation between search volume and competition - they're two different things entirely

    Put your keyword into spyfu.com

If there are lots of advertisers, then its competitive

Spyfu does give you a competition score as well - but I look at the advertisers - and I want lots of them - it means there's money in the niche

The 200 searches seems like an extremely low search volume. Likely, you would do much better by simply using Adwords to get traffic for anything so infrequently searched and maybe you would attract others who were looking for a slightly broader category of keyword (including the business professionals you are marketing to).

You probably shouldn't assume you'll get 100% of those 200 searches. Even if you get to #1.

Well, I figure I will at least get 100 or so views, and at 1 percent that would be one sale. So either way,I win.
