0 means that Google knows you exist but don't find you relivent, yet. 10 is the best but is literally impossible to get that high.

most of the sites on the web have 0 - zero Page Rank.
page rank will grow up only once your site get more authority from Google.

To give you a little perspective, the WF has a 4/10 PR.

Even though it's #189 in Alexa.

PR doesn't mean anything anymore. It's just a rarely updated number signifying the page's general popularity for the entertainment of those interested in looking at that sort of thing. PR hasn't been used in the ranking algorithm for years.

The Alexa rank of all online business sites are highly inflated by a higher percentage of industry workers having the Alexa toolbar installed compared to the general public.

PR means quite a bit, is updated all the time, and is a pretty good indicator of
what google feels about a webpage. I think you haven't updated your info
in years, or just don't know.

PR is similar to the SAT test. Does it predict who is a great college student?
No. Does it matter to admissions officers? Yes. Can you get into college with
a low SAT? Yes. To take that to mean the SAT is meaningless is completely
false. A high SAT means you are the fast track. Just like high PR. Your
SAT matters quite a bit. High school seniors fret about the SAT the same way
        webmasters fret about PR.

This is actually a good analogy for PR. It kind of doesn't matter but it kind of does at the same time.

PR0 is NOT really 0, it is between 0 and 0.999999999999999999
PR is on a log scale; its rounded down for display in the toolbar.

Google doesn't even update Pagerank (externally) anymore. They still keep an internal system, but what you see, it doesn't matter.

Page rank is really necessary when you are working with a competitive keyword. Other thant lower page rank may not be a issue for you.

Whether a PR0 is good or bad depends on a lot of things. The same goes for high PRs. There are some PR0s with lotsa links, some with none. Same for high PRs. For some reasons I'd rather have a PR0 with lotsa links than a PR5 with none.

PR acts like satisfaction that your site have some value in Google's eye..But it is not much important..Traffic,Ranking,Reputation etc. should get more consideration..

I must agree with this opinion, Today we have more website factors to care than website PR. PR is only important for people selling links

Really? I link from a PR 7 site to yours would have no effect?

There is no such thing as a PR 5 with no links.

Of all the stupid smartphone, tablet, and Facebook games that people keep putting out there, why has nobody recreated Lemmings yet? Great game.

Nothing like a question on PR to bring out a whole bunch of misinformation and half-truths.

It's simply to do with backlinks, not relevance.

It's not about authority, it's about backlinks.

The WF homepage is PR4. There are many pages on the WF that have PR>0. For example, this sub-forum homepage has PR3 as does the WSO forum homepage.

There are absolute zero PR5 pages with no backlinks. Not possible.

PR is updated daily. It's just the publicly available PR that gets very infrequent updates.

Google made updates to it in Feb and Dec 2013. This is much too sporadic for the metric to carry any weight in making business decisions.

Googles "Internal PR" updates all-day every-day. Googles "Public PR Toolbar" updates a few times a year.

Page rank really isn't as important as people think (as people above already point out).
The best thing to look at IMO is metrics such as majesties t and c flow, domain age, and also the anchor text of inbound links for that domain.

I bought a PR0 domain in the health niche a while back and chose 5 low comp keywords.

All I did was write short snippets, silo the site and whack a few vids on and it's already rankings well for 3 of the 5 keywords.

It always fascinates me how people rave about PR. As Peter pointed out above, the amount of misunderstanding out there is crazy!

Personally, I'd rather have a PR0 site that ranks and generates income than a PR5 site that does nothing but look pretty with high page rank.

      Nah.......

      All the same shitty experience.

At worst, begin with a PR1 and you will like the experience of getting featured in position 2, 3 and 4 of the big G depending on the keywords and if you have good off-site SEO then pronto.
