I am trying to find high page rank/high authority do follow blogs, forums, social bookmarking sites, article directories, and press release directories to post my links on, and the process is taking me a long time just to find these sites, and exactly where to post my links to. I am struggling to find which sites offer html options and which ones don't, so I can post my link and anchor text. Most of the sites I have been to are no follow.

I need some way to create backlinks faster and index them fast. I did a search query for "backlink generator" and I see there are several out there.

Do you guys use tools to automate creating backlinks and finding high pr do follow backlink sites, or does Google not like it when you use backlink tools? Should I use these backlink tools? If so, what tools do you recommend?

What other things do you guys recommend for me getting backlinks aka is there anything else I need to know about creating backlinks?

  • I highly recommend you to not use automatic link building tools.. Just go the way you choose.. Find new quality sites and post your link... SEO is continuous process not a job to finish.

    • So how do I find these high PR sites that are do follow, and how can I save myself time, is there any way to do this without letting this process take up your whole days effort?

Do most sites allow html coding - for anchor text, and link url and such?

What about backlink indexing tools and services, are those ok to use - you know, the tools that help you get your backlinks indexed faster?
  • You are doing it wrong. They are all very weak links and can do more harm than good.
Just look for some authority site in your niche and see their backlink profile. I'll bet you wont find a singe article directory link nor forum signature link.

    • I agree with Online Only's post. Link building is a very critical process, and if you want your website to survive all the algorithm changes, you have to be pretty careful. Automatic link building tools is a big no-no. Be resourceful. Look for quality sites related in your niche. In my case, I am checking the website in terms of domain and page authority aside from the page rank.

Also, do not focus only on SEO, build your social media presence because SEO and SEM goes hand in hand if you want lasting results.

    • Are you saying that that no one uses forum signatures, press releases or article marketing as a way to market themselves anymore?

I've used social media with YouTube and FaceBook for a long time, but I 've only recently started using Twitter, StumbleUpon, Instagram, Google+, and a few others. I wasn 't into internet marketing 6 years ago... BUT.... I've got a 6 year old YouTube account with 42 out of 52 original videos, 463 subscribers, 29 page authority, with a competition of 55 out of 100, page rank of 4, but 1 backlink or link and 0 juice. That is according to Long Tail Pro keyword research program. A couple of my videos have views in the 2000 range, one video some how got 7000 views. I typed in my youtube username in the Google search engine, and I found a bunch of my pages with my username in the search engine indexed.

I don't know how all this happened and I still have 0 links, but with all those subscribers and enough views and comments on my site, shouldn't I have a bunch of backlinks by now?
  • If your targeted niche is very competitive and hot, perhaps you need to get help from reputable companies and experts who have been in the market for years. Merely gathering links from forums and article directories is no longer applicable today, especially in hot markets where competition is really fierce. Such links were cool some years ago but the recent changes in web algorithms have made it complex to rank well.
  • I think long gone are the days where those types of links will do any good for your website. As others have said, it's best to find an authority site and try to establish some sort of relationship with them to where you can get them to link to you.
  • Always do this manually! Go with Article and Forum marketing. Also, guest blogging is a good way to do it. If you have a blog, a perfect way to get refs is by using Social Bookmarking sites!

    Outdated ebooks are awesome.

    • I respect everyone's opinion but I will have to disagree with all the "don't use seo softwares" advice. The softwares themselves are not bad, it all depends on how you use them. Even the private network blog builders are using softwares/web apps to find good websites to buy.

To the OP, I suggest you visit the websites of seo companies and see what packages they are offering. They might not spill all the beans but it will give you a much better perspective on where to start.

  • I will recommend you to do seo manually. Please don't use any automated software and indexing tools. Firstly you should think about content of your website and then you should think about off page seo. For off page seo you should submit your website in web directories, do social bookmarking, blog comments, forum posting, article submission, press release and also try yahoo answers.

If you need yahoo answers for your website then you can PM me.
