Hi guys

I ve been spanked by the last update and despite the disavowal request a couple months ago my site has still bombed off the front page so i was advised (as its my main business site and i cant just keep swapping domains) to alter my wp settings from http://www.xyz to http://xyz so i can at least keep my domain

my question is, if i delete the site (its only small and i have copies of the text etc) via cpanel and reinstall it but without the www will this work ?

I ask because i assume that just altering the settings in wp dashboard will only work as a redirect and i need to separate my bad links form my site if possible and still keep the domain and as it is the site has crashed so ill probably have to reinstall anyway

Thanks

Won't change a thing and you can accomplish the same thing without having to delete and reinstall your site via cpanel.

Just disavowing links and expecting something to happen is your probelm. You need to remove links first before disavowing the links you can't remove. Do you have an unnatural link message in webmaster tools? If not that means you were hit algorithmically.

Use a link removal service like linkdelete who advertises on here, I had good success with them helping me recover penalties. Otherwise if you know what you are doing then manage the link removals yourself. Either way link removals have to occur.

    Hi

Ive removed as many links as i can, i put that in the disavowal request, i havent even got that many links total. Yes its def an algo hit but im sure that non www is classed as different to www in the algo eyes
