Can you state in little more detail what your question means, are you trying to say if there are any more tier 1 properties to use other than web 2.0s, if yes there are many, you could set up private blog networks, social blogs like Jcow, drupal etc etc

Can't beat a Private blog network, the power given by a good private network is massive.

The problem with web 2.0's, they can be deleted by the owner at any given time. You'll have much more control by owning your own private network.
