Adsense clicks = $0

Just added adsense to a site that I started, and was impressed with the results, for the most part.

Out of around 70 visits, I had 2 clicks. Unfortunately, the earnings still show as $0. I'm a little disappointed, because this is in a niche that should have clicks earning $1+.

It's been like that for a few hours, so I'm guessing that in the end they're not going to count.

  • Not sure what "just added" means but google doesn't show adsense earnings in real time - there is a delay before results show.

If you just added them it may have displayed public service ads for a bit until it targeted the ads - you can't judge anything on 2 clicks. Give it time.

It happens sometimes when some robot clicks..
  • It's has also happened to me if someone did not stay on the site they clicked on long enough then Google won't charge the advertiser sometimes.
  • Hi imran60650,

Did you add your website in the area of allowed sites in your adsense account?

    • I've found that by providing a thorough description for your channels, especially for high end topics, you can immediately change the value of ads upward. Make sure you're not using the same ad code across sites that may produce lesser value ads.

It's really about providing google with as much info as they need to get you the ads you're want.

If you just added, wait 24 hours to let things settle down a bit.

Visitors doesn't equal impressions. If you have high impressions and low CTR, google is prone to provide lesser ads as your site demonstrates low conversion and thus less valuable to advertisers.

      Good luck

    • Er...that's not a good CTR. I think most here aim for and get 10-30% CTR. If you're not, you need to figure out why your ads aren't appealing to your visitors and fix it.

More targeted traffic equals higher CTR if your ads are spot on.
