Amazon Affiliaters your Focus Keyword

This seems like an obvious question but it doesnt seem to be for me. For affiliating amazon products, physical product review sites.

Is your landing page focus keyword targeting: "(product name)" or "(product name)" review.

As I look through similar affiliate based sites, going by their Google titles and meta descriptions they are targeting "(product name) review". However within there posts in the body of the reviews themselves, they seem to be targeting simply (product name). I am assuming this is because "(product name)" review is very unnatural to weave into a review article without making it look obvious you are keyword placing?

In my particular niche, both the "(product name)" and "(product name) review" keyword phrases are both easy to rank for.

"(product name) review" has more of a buyers intent behind it
"(product name)" has much more searches globally

Which do you choose? as your focus keyword in title, description and content body?

I always do it like this:

    - category pages optimized for product name reviews, eg hair dryer reviews

    - comparison article published as page optimized for best product name, best hair dryers

    - posts optimized for "brand" + "product name" + "review", eg conair hair dryer review(s).

Those comparison pages focused on "best ...." convert really well.
