Traffic Problem ?

In November my website had good traffic daily around 8000-1000 visits. But currently in December my website is having poor traffic 4000 - 5000 visits. What may be the problem. Does pagerank update affected my traffic. In November I had 6000 clicks from google search now only 3000. I am a newbie ? I need some help?

  • There are few things which you can look after to determine the causes of traffic fall. First see which pages have received more traffic in November and then compare traffic with December for same pages. If you see huge difference then it could possibly mean that ranking has been dropped for those pages.

    But if the traffic of each page drops then it could possibly means you have been affected with any Google penalty.

    Google hasn't introduced any new algorithm in December, so traffic fluctuation due to algorithm change is not possible. I would also suggest you to take a look on your Google webmaster tools, if there is any spam related issue with your site then you would have received message from Google.
  • In Google webmaster there is no spam issue. Some of my results from first page are now in third page.

    • As I already mentioned there is no update in December, so it simply means you competitors have outranked you. In this scenario you should start building relevant and quality links for your targeted pages and avoid using your main keyword as anchor text.

      I would also suggest you to update your content, to make it for useful and informative for your audience.

      Use these techniques, I'm sure you'll be back on top page.
