Promoting a Pro Football Site thru PPC: Stupid idea or not?

I have a blog tailored around the NFL. I get a couple visitors from social media sites like Google Plus. I am thinking about running a ppc campaign with a squeeze page so I can capture the visitors email address and promote the blog thru email newsletter. My plan for monotizing the site is thru cpm ads and sports memorabilia products on the back end. Any thoughs?

    Why don't you go with Affiliate Marketing then? Your idea is good if you have a lot of traffic or AT least interested visitors! So, any product from Amazon, Clickbank, etc. will covert good. Get their emails and be sure to write them PERSONALLY an email to say "Hi". If you get an answer, it's a good idea to save those emails, because they are "ready" customers for your offers!
