Hi everybody,

I been doing seo on a Youtube video that has 18,000 exact monthly searches for the keyword. It is now ranked 3 on the 1st page! It took me 5 months and was wondering what I should do to maintain it? Should I leave it alone or keep building links to it?

Any suggestions

Thanks!

Your best bet for long term rankings is high PR homepage backlinks. But the trick is to not blast your site with them. just add 1 per week until your rank goes up.

And vary ALL your anchor text from your backlinks. If 10% of your anchortext is your exact keyword. The next time you build a link with that anchortext make it in all capital letters or capitalize the first letter of each word. Looks more natural.

And it's best to make your pr sites all about your niche. So buy a 300 word unique article and anchor it on the home page- no other posts on the home page. Put your link in there back to your money site (youtube vid). Maybe add 3 more youtube posts on the site and put a link below the content that points back to the PR sites hompage. Add 1 unique sentence before the youtube vids. Then the whole PR site is on the same topic as your Youtube vid.

I'm getting really good results with this.

Are you social sharing this video on Facebook and Google+? This could further enhance your video's credibility and help it maintain the top spot on Google as they take social signals very seriously.

In my experience, Youtube videos rank very well regardless of backlinks and are probably the fastest platform to have content indexed by Google. Don't worry about backlinks, optimise the title and description as much as you can and focus on getting social signals.

How does one go about getting those social signals though?

Getting Social Bookmarks from Fiverr.com is always a good way.

My suggestion would be to leave it, and if it drops buy a few gigs on Fiverr, rinse and repeat!

          Good work though!!

Good point there. Google loves youtube videos and videos with higher views gets ranking quickly. You should try to increase your views through social sharing.
