How to increase on-page optimization of embedded YouTube videos?

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knew whether it would help with SEO to add the actual text script to the embedded video file on a web page? For example, when you embed a YouTube video on your website...

If so, what is the best way to add the script of the video to the video embed html?

I saw you could possibly use microdata formatting, like:

<meta itemprop="name" content="" />
<meta itemprop="description" content="" />

Do you think this is necessary and would help with SEO?

Thanks!

    You can do that, and if it is your own video, you should be putting the text in the description already. You can also put the full text under the video, for people to read. This is better as google likes to see things out in the open, and not hidden.

    Hope this helps you.

    None of that matters. Just have content that is viable and relational to the video. Youtube, and Google, build indexes of video content largely by the amalgamated patterns of viewers.
