A quick (and probably) easy question!

Hey everyone,

I have a question regarding the google spider / crawler.

I moved my website to another domain name. Yet I still see my old domain index results in google. Will google delete those results when the spider / crawler comes back to that domain again?

I'm still waiting to get indexed with the new domain. Shouldn't take that much longer though.

    Leaving the old domain intact would have been a better option as far as SEO If it had any established backlinks, then simply point links at the new site/page to give it a boost in the SERPs (free backlink).

    To answer your question, Google will eventually self correct the SERPs. How fast that self correction happens all depends on how fast you can get Google looking at those old URLs on the old site/domain.

    I guess you've setup a correct 301 redirect? Does the old index page URL redirect to the new domain index page?
  • If you redirect the website with 301 then google not show you website when spider crawl your new website. Also submit website in google webmaster tool and also add XML sitemap also.
  • Eventually index from old domain will dissapear. If you made proper 301 redirection there is nothing to be afraid.
  • As per my opinion you should go to the Google Webmaster Tools and use Remove url's function under Google index...
