A Q About The AdSense Signup Process

Hi all,
Just wanted to ask a question about the AdSense signup process....
Anywho, I signed up, and my website was approved. I implemented the ad code into a sidebar widget on my WordPress site, and it shows up as blank. Of course, AdSense says that initially, you'll only get a blank space in the area where the ad code is until they verify your account once again.
However, I don't see the "Place the ad code on http://mysite.com" step marked as complete for some reason. Anyone know why?
I'm eager to get AdSense up & running.
