Anywhere from a few hours to a year or more.

Sorry, but way too many variables, and way too little information.

sorry dude, i was typing then i got called away i was going to edit it.

the niche isnt hard, theres plenty of sites there that have very few backlinks, low pr, title and similar are not all optimized, some have yahoo and dmoz links, some dont- none of them are what you would call super optimized

its a low competition sector, im pretty sure an aged domain would rank in less than a month i just dont know what the deal is with brand new domains

    thanks

I do not think age really plays a role in rankings.

Your confusing established backlinks with domain age. The domain itself isn't doing anything.

Find an old domain with zero links & see how much authority it has (zero authority).

Really it all starts with having good links, If you already have the link sources ready to go, your way ahead of the game.

Build up as much authority for one page on your site (at least one page) then pass that same authority created from external links to additional internal pages. The authority will drop off the deeper you nest internal links so try & keep relevant pages as close to the authority page as possible.

    Example:
    • external-links.com (quality backlinks)
      • domain.com (strong authority)
        • domain.com/internal-page1 (strong authority little loss)

    • external-links.com (quality backlinks)
      • domain.com (strong authority)
        • domain.com/internal-page1 (strong authority little loss)
          • domain.com/internal-page1 (weaker)
            • domain.com/internal-page1 (no authority)

Strong authority links with good internal linking will get you more bang for your buck when it comes to external links.

Super quick. I started a site 3 months ago, now has 500+ uniques a day in gambling niche.

Lots of stuff is wide open now, especially with people being penalized and what not.

Completely Agree. I have launched 3 sites in the past 6-7 months, and while they are not getting thousands of UVs a day, they are getting decent traffic and mostly without any backlinks.

Comparing this to a few years ago, I can say from what I am seeing, it is much easier to rank sites now, and you can do it way faster than before.

It seems on page SEO is playing an even bigger role these days. Get the on page right and depnding on your niche/keyword, you may not even need any back links to hit the first page.

Of course, at the end of the day, how big and competitive your niche/keyword is play a major rule in all of this as well.

I will put a high emphasis to posting good relevant content targeting your keywords after that I would design my campaign to only target high quality PR sites that are relevant to my niche. I would also always stick to guest posting and similar backlinking techniques like content syndication then have a very good standing and use of social media site. A few good, high PR links would do I guess. You do not have to build a lot of backlinks for a very low competition niche.

Also depending on the competition of keywords, but generally 3 months you should see something for new domains. Of course quality link is more important than quantities!

First do work to crawl your new domain or indexed it properly in google database the think about the ranking. And don't try to get quick rank on SERP coz it could be penalized your site. Take time and create link in a genuine way that looks link natural or organic.

It depends if you can do proper On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO! For example a few good H1 tags, meta tags and of course quality backlinks -> For example guest blogging, article and forum marketing!

Add quality unique content, build some backlinks. Have some social signals and you ranking will be improved. Not easy though

Its a trust thing. New domains have an unknown trust factor. over time google will compare the trustworthyness of your domain. For a long time aged domains were considered better when in reality aged domains with a good trust level are good but you can get aged domains with a bad rep which can hinder. My advice would be with a new domain work on the content you can rank now easier than ever before with good onpage content. Use social netowrks to share and build a following getting traffic from social will lead to a better ctr and with good content a reduced bounce rate, these factors lead to trust and build authority which in turn will rank you higher.

While I'm sure the age of a domain will help, I just setup a domain a week ago and it's ranking on the first page of Google. Threw a few hundred dollars at ranking it, and the competition is medium. No drip feeding, and it's fine.

Like yukon and others stated it's not how old the domain is, it's the authority that you get from social network signals + links (quality and volume with anchor text diversity)

The algorithm would be broken because new websites or webpages do go "viral" so penalizing something for being new or an influx of social+links would be a mistake.
