Bring Back a Site From Nowhere

So I have a domain that I pretty much forgot about, one that is now 10 years old and has more than 10k backlinks pointing it. No penalty that I can tell either.
I am thinking of putting a site on this domain, and am wondering if it would be possible to rank for anything even though the domain has been nonactive for so long?

  • If you put decent content on it and build links yes.
  • Chances are the back links you once had no longer exist.

That doesn't stop you from "restarting the site", but I wouldn't count on being able to reap the benefits of back links that probably no longer exist.

    • Yeah... You should start from the beginning! At least 8k backlinks don't exist anymore for sure! Just be sure to start working hard now!
  • A lot of the quality links are there, I've checked.
The site always had content on it, but just a few pages. Now I'm expanding it out to be an actual full site with lots of pages and info. Basically the site has been dorment for like 8 years and now I'm fixing it up real good. I've started this project a little over a month ago and so far, the site is being crawled every 4 days or less so Google does appear interested in it lol.
  • Hello,
First share your site link if available and tell that what is your site niche then we can talk about competition and can get the target that how much backlinks you need also try to purchase high PR link I know that are expensive but they took your site on the top.
    Hope this Helps.
