Got content now need help getting it out

We have some really great content on our blog that we want to circulate to a wider audience on the internet. We do the normal thing of Facebook and Twitter but we have no idea how we can get it out further.
Can someone help me with that sort of skill set I'm after, is it a content seeder?
I would like to outsource it on oDesk or eLance as I imagine this takes up some time.

    First thing i suggest you to optimize your blog so that it start gaining the organic traffic add the subscriber button so that when you post new content they received the mail notification about that. You can also run email marketing and social media marketing also.

    -Find other SMM sites where you can promote your content and drive traffic, pinterest, linkedin, stumbleupon, reddit, friendfeed, identica, scoopit, plurk...

    -Search for niche related blogs and leave good and honest reply in comments with link to your site.

    -Find niche related forums and jump in conversations. Put link to your site in signature.

    If you think you have budget set to outsource your site, then you should surely do that. Other than learning SEO basics and molding with current tactics will take time.
