Different backlinks on the same article?

From what I understand google likes it when you have link text in links. That way they know what you are sending people to. If I use 2 different sets of keyword phrases on 2 different links (that link to the same URL) does google give that URL credit for both sets of link text?

Example:

If I am doing a site on dog grooming, can I set 1 link text to:

...www.doggroom.c0m">Dog Grooming</a>

and then on the same article do another link that is:

...www.doggroom.c0m">Poodle Grooming</a>

and get "credit" for www.doggroom.c0m for both sets of link texts?

yes, they sure do. I would suggest using as many google synonyms as possible. To find google synonyms, you can do a tilde search (example `dog) and the bolded words in the return are "google synonyms". Also, this tool does it for you even better.

    google "gorank ontology tool"

Be aware that google likely considers the 2nd level synonyms (synonyms of synonyms) also when evaluating text. Probably third and fourth level also... when I write content around a particular keyphrase, I have a list of all the first and second level google synonyms and try to work them in. Works great, and it is good to use for links as well.

Your right but be careful with the number of links pointing to the same URl from the same page. You will find that some links will be discounted and if you go overboad it could discount all the links

That is what I was worried about. When I have been putting up squidoos and blogger sites I have been putting 3 or 4 links per 400+ word article. I usually put 2 in the main text body [1 near the top and 1 near the bottom]. Then I put links in or near the pictures I post.

      Is that pushing it?
