Is it even worth trying to rank for these keywords?

The competition seems to be pretty strong and my website will be brand new. 0 links and im not good a SEO. The keywords above are just a few examples of what I could use, but the main ones have been saturated.

I am creating an ebook and will need key words like this to get people onto my site amount other options.

My main source to sell the ebook is doing it via affiliates, id assume the bulk of my sales would be coming from there.

Now the question:

is it worth my time to write a few articles hoping people would come onto my site and see the "sales page". Or would my time be spent better just writing the book?

thanks.

If it's not highly relevant, don't bother.

No, start with someone you can rank for that is longer tail. As your site starts gaining traction and links naturally you can then start to optimize for your more competitive keywords.

That way you start somewhere you can rank and then build up as needed for the bigger keywords.
