High PR/DA article directory vs low PR/DA relevant site?

What would be the best choice if you want to publish a few articles and have a few alternatives?

For example, publishing an article (with your link) on a high PR5+/DA40+ article directory with your relevant category vs publishing that article on the same niche as your site is, but with let's say PR1-2 and DA less than 20?

  • I would also prefer the niche website - in particular if you believe the niche site is growing / well maintained and you can build a relationship with the webmaster

    • True, the site should be a real site that is maintained by its owner. If it's just a site put up to take advantage of guest bloggers then I might reconsider.
  • Unless an article directory is strictly policed no commercial anchor text and only original articles it's potentially toxic.
